Namoi Cotton, Australia’s largest cotton ginner, today unveiled their industry-leading Cotton Ginning Development Pathways Program. This program aims to attract and develop a new generation of talent for the Australian ginning sector which will benefit the broader cotton industry.
Recognising the critical importance of attracting younger individuals to the ginning industry, Namoi Cotton has taken the lead by introducing a TAFE accredited Certificate III Engineering apprenticeship designed to build the skills needed for a career in cotton ginning.
Tim Watson, Executive Chair of Namoi Cotton Limited, emphasized the strategic focus and long-term benefits of the program.

In addition to the formal qualification, the Program also equips participants with the technical knowledge and practical skills needed through hands-on experience and mentoring.

About the program
The Namoi Cotton Ginning Development Pathways Program offers participants the opportunity to pursue a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical) through an apprenticeship program delivered in conjunction with TAFE. This comprehensive training, combined with on-the-job experience, results in a formal qualification, and provides them with transferable skills and credentials for future career growth.
Namoi Cotton encourages individuals from diverse backgrounds to apply for the program. No prior processing experience is required, and school leavers are encouraged to apply.
Namoi Cotton will be attending career fairs and job expos in Southern Queensland and Western NSW to raise awareness of the program and to showcase the program to teachers, parents, school leavers and those looking for a career change.
