Grains
Namoi Cotton Alliance (“NCA”) operate three grain and pulse commodity packing sites located at Goondiwindi, Wee Waa and Trangie.
These sites provide a competitive receival, storage and packing service which allows viable options for both growers and merchants to manage their marketing options. Our third-party packing business model, attracts a diverse range of grain and pulse merchants to our facilities. Presently there is up to 15 merchants buying into our facilities, creating an open and active market for growers to price their commodities.
NCA is also focused on providing an efficient receival and storage service during the harvest period with resent capital expenditure on bunker receival equipment, increasing the receival capacity at our three sites.
This combined with increased operational hours has improved the receival capabilities markedly over recent years. There is also a focus post-harvest to add additional value to farm storage by facilitating and effective link to export through the NCA packing facilities.
The synergies gained through the association with Namoi’s cotton business provides a consistent demand for rail freight throughout the year enabling NCA to add value to merchants and growers through the provision of an efficient cost effective supply chain to port.
The site locations provide a value proposition to merchants through the ability to swap stock between sites to meet shipping schedules. This also adds additional value to the supply chain increasing export flexibility and in turn increasing buying demand at sites.
