Board and Executives

The Namoi Cotton leadership teams are made up of the Namoi Cotton Board, Namoi Cotton Executive Team, and NCA Senior Managers.

Namoi Cotton Board

Tim Watson

Executive Chair

Mr Watson was appointed to the Board on 18 December 2014 and appointed as Chair for Namoi Cotton Limited on 29 August 2018.

He is a member of the People, Culture and Nominations Committee. Until early 2022, Mr Watson grew cotton in the Hillston Region. He has been involved in the cotton industry since 2000 as a member of the Hillston District Irrigators Association, the Lachlan River Customer Service Committee and the Lachlan Valley Water Users Association. He brings with him extensive industry and commercial expertise in the cotton and general agricultural industry. He was also recognised by the cotton industry by being the recipient of the 2014 Australian Cotton Grower of the Year Award.

Robert Green

Independent Non-executive Director

Mr Green joined the Namoi Cotton Board in May 2013.
He is Chair of the Safety, Health and Environment Committee and a member of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and Trading Risk Committee. Mr Green has considerable board-relevant experience working as a Senior Executive and General Manager in the Australian and international agricultural industry over many years. Key areas of experience include Business Management, Operations Management and Business Development. Mr Green is also a Non-Executive Director of Lindsay Australia Limited and Boomaroo Nurseries Pty Ltd.

Juanita Hamparsum

Independent Non-executive Director

Mrs Hamparsum was appointed to the Board on 7 June 2018 as a casual Director and was elected at the 2018 general meeting.

Mrs Hamparsum grows cotton and grains in the Upper Namoi region and has been involved in the cotton industry since 1998. With extensive financial, agricultural and natural resource management experience, Mrs Hamparsum is a chartered accountant and currently a Director and chair of the audit committee of Cotton Seed Distributors Ltd.

She is Chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and a member of the Safety, Health and Environment Committee and Trading Risk Committee.

Ian Wilton

Independent Non-executive Director

Mr Wilton was appointed to the Board on 17 June 2020 as a casual Director, after being elected at the 2020 annual general meeting.

Mr Wilton is an experienced Non-Executive Director, having served on the boards of both listed and unlisted companies. He also has significant executive experience in the agribusiness sector. Mr Wilton is currently Chair of the Board of Elders Limited, as well as Chair of the People, Culture and Nomination Committee and a member of the Audit Risk and Compliance Committee.

James Davies

Independent Non-executive director

Mr Davies joined the Namoi Cotton Board in November 2022.

Mr Davies has over 35 years’ experience in investment management across timberland, economic infrastructure, real estate and private equity. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of New England, a Master of Business Administration from the London Business School and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is a member of the People, Culture and Nominations and Safety, Health and Environment Committees.

Sarah Scales

Non-Executive Director

Ms Scales joined the Namoi Cotton Board in May 2023.

Ms Scales has extensive Non- Executive and Executive experience in the international and Australian agribusiness sectors. Her experience spans across the broad-acre cropping, horticulture, sugar, plant technology, meat production, food processing and water industries.

She is Chair of the Trading Risk Committee. 

Ms Scales is currently a Non -Executive Director for Agracom Pty Ltd, AustOn Corporation and related entities and Tarac Australia Limited.

Andy Baldwin

Chief Financial Officer

Andy was appointed CFO in September 2023, he had previously been Interim CFO at Namoi Cotton in 2021/2022. He has expertise in managing the P&L performance of a business, leading strategy projects and change initiatives. He has experience in a broad range of industries including, food manufacturing, B2B ingredient supply, commodity risk management and supply chain management. 

Shane McGregor

Executive General Manager Operations

Shane joined Namoi Cotton in 1999. Having previously held cotton and cottonseed management positions with Cotton Trading Corporation Pty Ltd, Shane has been involved in the cotton industry in various management capacities since 1991.

He has significant management experience in domestic marketing, commodities exports, logistics, cotton classing and commodities packing operations and brings over 20 years of specialised cotton industry experience to the senior management team. Shane was previously the General Manager of Commodities for Namoi Cotton and in November 2013, became the Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for the performance of the ginning, ginning technical support services, cottonseed trading, commodities packing services, occupational health and safety and environmental business functions.

Neil Johns

Executive General Manager Strategy & Business Development

Neil commenced with Namoi Cotton in 2020 and has more than 30 years of agribusiness and supply chain experience in strategy, business development, M&A and operations.

Grant Ambrose

Engineering Manager

Grant was appointed Engineering Manager in 2021. He has 17 years of experience in the cotton industry with Namoi Cotton in roles such as electrical services, maintenance and trades manager and project manager.

Ross Kealy

BEng (Chem), MBA
Operations Manager

Ross joined Namoi Cotton in 2021, bringing with him extensive experience in Food, FMCG and Chemical Manufacturing. His background in the Development of People, Plant and Processes supports Namoi Cotton’s Operational Excellence.

Henry McKay

Executive General Manager Customer Engagement

Henry was appointed EGM Customer Engagement in 2022. He has extensive experience in the Agricultural sector gained through roles across AgTech, sales, commodity trading and broking.
